The Time Machine (1960) | 3.5 out of 5

Verdict

Obviously dated by today’s standards but has lost none of its charm. Awesome (and Oscar winning) stop frame animation time travel sequences and a challenging story make this one of the all time great Sci-Fi classics. Original is best! (in this case)

  1. onion Said,

Is the original really the best? I haven’t seen this in a long while, but remember it had plenty of very dodgey sets and some strange abridged explanations of what has happened in the future.

I’d be interested to see this and the new version (with Samantha Mumba!) back to back and compare. I know the new one had plenty of dubois moments, and a buildup which was far too long, but I remember it having some really interesting scenes.
